A day after Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar reported actor Vivek Agnihotri or his "hateful and insensitive" tweet targeting her for speaking on the Kerala nun abuse case, he has responded. The actor tweeted saying while she has interfered, it does not stop him from talking about India’s #UrbanNaxals.

According to various media reports, Vivek replied to Swara by telling her sarcastically he was grateful for curbing his freedom of expression and mocking her called it “quite liberal”. He went on to add that he quite motivated and now more determined to defeat “India’s enemies” which he referred to as #UrbanNaxals. The actor went a step further by reminding her that the last time Swara’s mother Ira Bhasker, faculty at JNU stopped his film at the university. However, he said he said he is glad she has rejuvenated the fight, and he will take it forward.

The fight between Swara Bhasker and Vivek Agnihotri started earlier this week after the actress condemned Kerala MLA PC George for making objectionable remarks about the nun, who accused a bishop of sexually abusing her. However, when Vivek saw the tweet, he responded by comparing it to the #MeToo movement and said: "Where is the placard #MeTooProstituteNun?". Swara did not take it lying down and accused him of insulting and using the trauma of women who are rape survivors to slut shame and abuse those he doesn’t like. Swara immediately reported the tweet to social media giant Twitter and Vivek was asked to take it down and his account was blocked.

Veere Di Wedding actress Swara Bhaskar is known to always speak her mind and be in the forefront against any injustice. Earlier, she had told a website about the Kerala nun incident saying that it wasn’t a fight against her but an attack on all women calling for solidarity for rape survivors.
