Twinkle Khanna is busy enjoying the success of her latest book, Pyjamas Are Forgiving, and known to be as witty as she is, the former Bollywood actor and author spoke about Bollywood. While she does write about a lot of stuff in general, at a recent event, she was asked if people could expect her to write about Bollywood and she revealed that the film industry is quite boring to her and also very familiar, which is why she doesn’t want to write about it.
Twinkle said she was always a misfit in Bollywood as much as she would be knitting on the sets in between shoots. If not knitting, she would be reading a book and do all kinds of other things. While she was taught knitting by her grandmother, her house was very hippie-like and they even played the guitar, all of which turns out to be a major influence for her and hence she was never interested in fitting in. Twinkle went on to add that the books are an extension of her and not the film self and hopes people will forget about the films, and remember her for her books.
Talking about her book, Twinkle made a comparison to the #MeToo movement and stated about how comfortable pyjamas are but in the case of women, if they let the drawstrings too loose, they are standing in nothing but underwear.
