Priyanka Chopra is on a roll as she has signed up for a film with Mindy Kaling, and it will be about every Indian’s dream - a wedding! After a lot of speculation, Universal has confirmed that it bagged the auction for collaboration, and the comedy will be produced by Mindy and Dan Goor, of Brooklyn 99 fame, according to reports in IANS.
With weddings being a huge deal in India, it is no surprise that this is going to revolve around the big fat Indian wedding, which is more than just the ceremonies, as it is also about the different cultures. While the details about the plot are yet to be revealed, it is said that the film will be on the lines of Crazy Rich Asians meet My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Being a producer herself in the film, Priyanka’s Purple Pebble Pictures will collaborate with Mindy, Dan, and 3Arts’ Howard Klein.
Priyanka, being quite active on social media, also shared the news with her fans, saying the collaboration is basically two women with a passion for telling good stories. She added that they have received the green light for the film, and people will get to see what it means to be modern, global and Indian, with a story told their way.
