Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone is known to be quite direct when addressing rumours surrounding her life. In the most recent one too, she hasn't hesitated and posted a selfie for people who said she wouldn’t vote. The picture on her Instagram reportedly comes after there were reports doing the rounds saying that she wouldn’t be voting this time because she has a Danish passport.

In her Instagram note, Deepika said, “Never has there been any doubt in my mind about who I am or where I’m from. So for those of you confused on my behalf...please don’t be! Jai Hind!” The note has shut down all the rumours doubting her citizenship and criticising her saying that she will not be able to vote because she does not have an Indian passport. Interestingly, the reports came after it was noticed that Deepika was born to her parents, Prakash and Ujjala in the Danish capital Copenhagen in 1986 before they moved to Bengaluru. As soon as she had finished voting in Mumbai, the 33-year-old actor readily posed for the camera proudly holding up her finger.

While Deepika voted on her own, her husband Ranveer Singh came in a little later with his father and did the needful and even posted a picture on Instagram like all other Bollywood celebrities. On the film front, Deepika is all set for her upcoming film Chhapaak, which is being directed by Meghna Gulzar, and based on the real-life story about acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.
