As the entire country is mourning and reeling from the Pulwama attack in Jammu and Kashmir, Kangana Ranaut has lashed out at Shabana Azmi and called her anti-national. The veteran actress has responded with the utmost dignity, as the Manikarnika actress criticised her for halting the literary conference in Karachi after she was invited by the Karachi Art Council.

Shabana Azmi and husband Javed Akhtar announced that they would not be going to the conference, which was set to celebrate the actors late father Kaifi Azmi’s writings. As soon as Kangana got to know about it, she immediately reacted saying that it is people like her who support Bharat Tere Tukde Honge gangs. She went on to question why the event was organised in Karachi in the first place, if the Pakistani artistes have been banned after the Uri attacks. Kangana said that the film industry is full of such anti-nationals, who boost the enemy moral in many ways, however, she said the focus now is not on Pakistan ban but on Pakistan destruction.

In response, Shabana said that such a kind of personal attack is of no significance to her right now as the entire country stands as one in grief and in condemning this dastardly Pulwama attack. The actress finished by saying, “May God bless her” to Kangana, as the latter has been busy criticising Bollywood celebrities for not supporting her film Manikarnika
