In a bizarre incident, a case has been filed against Pakistani actor Fawad Khan by the Lahore District Administration on Wednesday for refusing polio vaccination teams to vaccinate his child. The FIR was filed after a report filed by the union council monitoring officer stated that when the officials reached the actor’s residence, he refused the vaccination and threatened them with dire consequences.

The report revealed that Fawad Khan has one child (his daughter) eligible for vaccination, however, when they did go to the house in Lahore, it was the driver who first misbehaved with them. The information was tweeted out by Polio Eradication officer Babar Bin Atta, who went on to add that Fawad Khan is Pakistan’s pride and they request him to allow the officials to vaccinate the child as there has been one case reported already, and all they want to do is protect the child. However, Babar revealed that Fawad’s wife Sadaf thinks that getting immunised from the UK is a better option as it will prevent the WPV1 strain, but she went on to state that the Wild Polio Vaccine can be prevented only with the help of Oral Polio Vaccine.

Interestingly, Fawad Khan’s manager has said that neither the actor or his wife has refused the vaccination. Instead, he released a statement saying that Fawad has not been at home and has been travelling since February 13. The statement also went on to add that Fawad Khan is fully aware of the guidelines and his daughter has been vaccinated on schedule.
