There is no bigger star than Balasaheb Thackeray in Maharashtra: Aamir Khan ahead of Thackeray release

Aamir said every producer always looks at their business and most people want to watch this film on January 25, so it is obvious that no other film will be screened on the same day.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer Thackeray is all set to release on January 25, however, the controversies surrounding the film are increasing by the day. While earlier it was Tamil actor Siddharth, who criticised the Manto actors and the makers for depicting hate for South Indians in the film, there are many who are saying the Shiv Sena has forced makers to shift film releases.

Interestingly, Aamir Khan recently at a promotion said there is no bigger star in Maharashtra than Balasaheb Thackeray, the founder of the Shiv Sena. The Thugs Of Hindostan actor went on to add that every producer always looks at their business and most people want to watch this film on January 25, so it is obvious that no other film will be screened on the same day. On the other hand, NCP-Congress Nawab Malik has criticised the Shiv Sena and accused them putting pressure on filmmakers to change their release dates. He went on to add that if the party wants only Thackeray to release on the day, they should go ahead and buy the tickets in all the theatres.

Coincidentally, Emraan Hashmi’s Cheat India has been advanced to January 18 but there is no particular reason for the change in the date. However, Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika is scheduled to release on the same day as Thackeray, as of now. The film on Balasaheb Thackeray will see Nawazuddin Siddiqui play the lead, as he has received a lot of positive reviews from the trailer, which released last week.
