Boney Kapoor grants Sridevi’s last wish, Ajith to act opposite Vidya Balan in Tamil remake of Pink

Sridevi asked Boney to make it possible after she worked with Ajith in English Vinglish, and before her untimely death last year they decided to make a Tamil remake of Pink.

 Bollywood actor Vidya Balan is set to make her Kollywood debut opposite Tamil star Ajith Kumar in the remake of the Hindi film Pink starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu. Interestingly, this will also be producer Boney Kapoor’s first in the Tamil film industry with the untitled film, which is being directed by H Vinoth. 

Boney released a statement saying that he is happy to introduce Vidya to Tamil audiences and she will be playing a very special role in the film. He also went on to add that Shraddha Srinath and Rangaraj Pandey will also be a party of the film and will be playing a very important roles. Interestingly, he revealed that it was one of Sridevi’s wishes that actor Ajith Kumar should act in a Tamil film, with their home production house. The late actor asked Boney to make it possible after she worked with Ajith in English Vinglish, and while nothing materialised earlier, one day last year before her untimely death, Ajith came up with the idea that they should remake Pink. Sridevi immediately agreed as she thought nothing could be more relevant, revealed Boney Kapoor. 

The film is set to release on May 1 and will see music by Yuvan Shankar Raja as Nirav Shah becomes cameraperson. Boney Kapoor revealed that he is also working on another film with Ajith, which is set to go on floors in July and will release in April 2020.
