Alia Bhatt clearly does not have time to enjoy the success of Gully Boy because she is soon going to get busy with the promotions for Kalank. Alia Bhatt including the rest of the cast of the film and producer Karan Johar shared a first look of her character Roop from the film, and fans are loving every bit of her new regal look. However, many have also found it to resemble Deepika Padukone’s look in Padmaavat.
Alia Bhatt sharing the picture on her Twitter account captioned the picture, “Here she is. Roop” as the poster shows her donning a transparent embroidered red ensemble as a bride. The cast released a series of pictures of both - men and women of the film with the hashtag #MenOfKalank and #WomenOfKalank. Among all the posters, it was clearly Alia Bhatt who stood out among all the posters for yet again doing a diverse role, unlike any others she has done before. While many compared it to Deepika’s character of Rani Padmaavati in Padmaavat, there were several others who said it looked like Aishwarya Bachchan in Jodha Akbar. Karan Johar shared the poster saying, “To Love Her is To Love Fire” as Madhuri said, “She’s full of life and has a heart of gold”. With the promotions of the film in full swing, Sonakshi said Alia Bhatt’s character is “Free, bound only by love! This is Roop!”.
Kalank is a 500-crore budget Bollywood period drama directed by Abhishek Varman and co-produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film also stars Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt and is set to release on April 19, with music by Pritam.
