Deepika Padukone shared the first look from her upcoming film, Chhapaak, on Instagram today. The actor plays acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal in the film, directed by Raazi’s Meghna Gulzar.
The Padmaavat actor appears to be in prosthetic makeup in the picture, where she is seen in an artistic pose. The scars and burns on her character’s face are also visible.
Apart from revealing the first look, Deepika announced that filming on the project will commence today. Chhapaak will be released on January 10, 2020 and also stars Vikrant Massey.
