Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie is reportedly in talks to star in The Eternals, Marvel Studios' adaptation of the comic book series of the same name. However, the role the 43-year-old is going to be playing is not yet revealed.
Directed by Beijing-born Chloé Zhao the script of the movie is written by Matthew and Ryan Firpo. Reports from last year had claimed that one part of The Eternals would be a love story between two Eternals (Ikaris and Sersi).
The Eternals were created by comic book legend Jack Kirby in 1976. The comics followed a group of creatures known as The Eternals, who were described as an offshoot of the process that created sentient life on Earth. The Eternals were meant to be the protectors of Earth by their creators, The Celestials, defending Earth against their destructive counterparts, The Deviants.
Angelina is currently working with Disney on Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, the sequel to the 2014 original, that is slated for an October 2019 release. She is also a part of Brave director Brenda Chapman's next venture, Come Away, a fantasy drama that serves as a prequel to Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan.
