It wouldn’t be too much to say that Robert Downey Jr has been the heart of Avengers franchise, since it began with his film, Iron Man in 2008. He continued to play Tony Stark aka Iron Man  in 10 different films.

In an interview with a leading media organisation, director Joe Russo reportedly said that Robert deserves an Oscar for his dedication and work with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “His cumulative body of work from these movies is staggering. If you look at the work over just even the last four (Marvel) films he’s done, it’s phenomenal. He deserves an Oscar perhaps more than anyone in the last 40 years because of the way that he has motivated popular culture, it’s heartbreaking. He has the world in tears right now,” Joe said.

Robert was last seen in Avengers: Endgame, directed by Joe and his brother Anthony Russo. Robert was earlier nominated in 1992 for playing Charlie Chaplin in Chaplin and again in 2009 for his role in Tropic Thunder

The cast of Avengers: Endgame includes Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Bradley Cooper and Josh Brolin.
