The beautiful Rashmika Mandanna, a heartthrob for many, was recently roped in as the brand ambassador for ITC Fiama sandal range. The actor, whose last release Animal, opposite Ranbir Kapoor, was a blockbuster hit, shares with us her skincare secrets. Excerpts:

What is skincare for you? And what does your routine include?

A

Skincare for me is about healthy well-nourished skin. While there are a plethora of steps and routines out there, I keep it very simple. I am big on natural ingredients so my routine will include those for sure. My day kicks off with a rejuvenating shower, which sets the foundation for my body care routine.

When it comes to my skincare regimen, I follow it up with a moisturiser to keep my skin supple and soft. Using a sun protection during the day is of utmost importance to me. This combination of essentials forms the cornerstone of my skincare routine, and I make sure my water intake through the day is high.

How responsible should popular faces be when they are signing up as brand ambassadors?

A

Being a public figure comes with certain responsibilities. As actors, I feel it is on us to represent brands whose philosophy and ethos aligns with what we stand for.

As a brand not only do they care for physical well-being but are equally vocal about their focus on democratising mental health and conversations around it.

You face harsh lights. How do you handle skin damage?

A

I think using ingredients and products that work for your skin really helps. My mornings begin with a rejuvenating shower, post which, I focus on cleansing my face, moisturising, and, most importantly, applying sunscreen to shield my skin throughout the day. On non- shoot days I like letting my skin breath with minimal makeup.

What do you do after you return from a super tiring day?

A

After a taxing day at work, I really need comfort – in my food and my mood!! Once I have the meal of my choice, I always unwind with a warm shower before bed.

Can you share a sneak peek into your regular diets?

A

My diet focuses on incorporating simple yet nutritious foods into my diet, such as seasonal fruits, sweet potatoes, and veggie-packed soups. These choices are deliberate, ensuring that I receive essential vitamins and minerals vital for my well-being.

Homemade meals form the cornerstone of my diet. I consciously select natural, unprocessed ingredients, steering clear of junk and oily food. Instead, I prioritise foods that contribute the right kind of energy to my body, aligning with my commitment to a wholesome and health-conscious lifestyle.

Favourite cheat meals?

A

I thoroughly enjoy indulging in anything sweet. However, on my designated cheat days, my ultimate guilty pleasure revolves around savouring delicious pancakes.

What kind of perfume do you like?

A

Sandalwood is an all-time favorite of mine. The scents of jasmine, mogra, and lilies, combined with the earthy notes of cedarwood, also holds a great appeal for me.
