Kollywood reels: Rajveer Singh on films, Bollywood, Kollywood and more
Rajveer Singh opens up about films, Bollywood, Kollywood and more
Model turned actor Rajveer Singh, who recently made his Bollywood debut in the critically acclaimed G Kutta Se, will soon be seen in his first Tamil movie along with Gautham Karthik in director Kalaprabhu Thanu’s Indrajith. Beginning his modelling career in 2007, Singh landed his first movie G Kutta Se earlier this year. Speaking about his role in Indrajith, he says, “I play the antagonist in the film and fortunately for me, my character speaks in Hindi. Apart from this, even though the script of the movie is of a fantasy film, for me it was an action thriller because of the amount of fight scenes we shot. I will be seen more often in the second half of the movie, when I have to save the hidden treasure in my forest.”
When asked about his shooting experience in the Kollywood industry, the 31-year-old actor points out, “The first thing that impressed me was that there is a lot of respect and value for everyone’s time here. If the shoot is scheduled to start at 7 am, it will begin sharp at the given time. Also, I got to explore a lot of places in Kerala, as we shot a lot of scenes in a dense forest near Alleppey. In total, I had fun throughout the 45 days I was with the crew.”
On how he landed the role, the Mumbai-based actor says, “I was in Chennai earlier this year for a
photoshoot for (clothing brand) Urbantouch. That is when I got to meet S Thanu, and he told me that he will let me know if there are any suitable roles for me in the industry. After a gap of almost seven months, he called to tell me about his son’s (Kalaprabhu) next film. I came down for my audition and eventually was selected for the role.” The actor will be seen along with Gautham Karthik, Ashrita Shetty, Sonarika Bhadoria, Sudhanshu Pandey, Pratap Pothan and Sachin Khedekar in supporting roles.
Indrajith is slated to release on September 15.
