Anupam Kher gets nominated for BAFTA 2018

The television movie is an adaptation of Satnam Sanghera's memoir by the same name in which Kher plays father to a Sikh boy.

Veteran Indian actor Anupam Kher has received a nomination for his performance in a BBC project called "The Boy with the Topknot" in the Virgin TV British Academy Television Awards 2018. 

The television movie is an adaptation of Satnam Sanghera's memoir by the same name in which Kher plays father to a Sikh boy. 

The actor who is more than 500 films old has been nominated along with other actors like Adrian Dunbar for Line of Duty, Brian F. O'Byrne for Little Boy Blue and Jimmi Simpson for USS Callister ("Black Mirror") and will be fighting for the Best Supporting Actor role. 

The nominations were announced by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts for the annual Virgin TV British Academy Television Awards on Wednesday.

The 63-year-old actor elated about the nomination immediately tweeted saying "Thank you Bafta for the nomination. I feel honoured and humbled." 

The ceremony will be held at the Royal Festival Hall on May 13, 2018 and will reward the best television programmes broadcast in the UK in 2017.
