Bollywood film star Arjun Kapoor posted on his official Instagram page on starting the shoot of his upcoming movie Panipat. He announced about the shoot with a caption, "Embarking on a journey like never before... with Ashu sir & our entire team. #Panipat # PanipatShootBegins." Panipat is an Indian historic period film expected to release on December 6, 2019. The movie is directed by the Lagaan film director Ashutosh Gowariker starring Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon produced by Sunita Gowariker and Rohit Shelatkar.
Similarly, the Heropanti actress Kriti Sanon's Instagram page also read, "Our #Panipat journey begins today. Super excited for this new chapter.. gonna join you guys in 2 days!!"
The Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and the Devdas art director Nitin Chandrakant Desai is recreating the enormous Shaniwar Wada at Karjat. While Javed Akhtar will be the lyricist and will collaborate with musical duo brothers Ajay- Atul Gaogavale.
"Historical dramas have always fascinated me. This time it is a story about what led to the Third Battle of #Panipat." tweeted Gowariker earlier releasing the first teaser poster.
The Ishaqzaade star will be playing the role of Maratha leader Peshwa Sadashivrao Bhau and Sanjay Dutt as Afghan king Ahmad Shah Durrani. Kriti will be essaying the role of Sadashivrao's second wife Parvatibai. Padmini Kolhapure, Abdul Quadir Amin and Mohnish Bai are the other stars playing important roles in the film.
