Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean was inspired by Lord Krishna, writer reveals

Social media is abuzz with one of the biggest confessions from Hollywood which suggests that the popular character of Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean was inspired by Lord Krishna.

The first film in the three-part franchise titled Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl hit the theatres back in the year 2003. The movie gave us one of the iconinc characters of all time, Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp. But little did anyone know that Depp's character of Jack Sparrow was actually insipired by Lord Krishna. 

Social media is abuzz with one of the biggest confessions from Hollywood which suggests that the popular character of Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean was inspired by Lord Krishna.

Ted Elliott, one of the screenwriters of the movie earlier shared in a statement, "Jack Sparrow's character in Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the most integral part of the film. The characterization of Sparrow is based on Lord Krishna who is a major deity in Hinduism. While writing the character sketch of Jack Sparrow, we referred to the description of Lord Krishna, various shades of the Almighty, which helped us a lot in making the whole character of Jack Sparrow into existence"

This big confession has left Twitter into a frenzy and the hashtag #JackSparrowIsKrishna witnessed a strong India trend, a testimony of which was seen on Twitter.
