AR Rahman turns producer and writer for debut film, 99 Songs

The Oscar-winning composer also added that the film will be released worldwide in three different languages - Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi on June 21.

After giving fans melodious music all around the globe, AR Rahman is all set to turn producer and writer for his debut film titled 99 songs. The composer released a statement on Twitter saying the film will be a young, passionate love story, which will see music as its soul. 

The Oscar-winning composer also added that the film will be released worldwide in three different languages - Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi on June 21. Produced by his production company YM Movies, it will be a partnership with Jio Studios. The announcement comes after the release of the Avengers anthem during Joe Russo’s India visit, celebrating 10 years of the film. 

Interestingly, Rahman revealed that while he was nervous about whether Joe Russo would like the Telugu version, the latter said he loved it and that the composer had given him a hit. Joe also said that he wants AR Rahman to dub the anthem in Chinese and Korean for audiences all over the world.
