Ever since Gully Boy hit the theatres, there's been one question on every viewer's mind, "Who's this guy who played MC Sher"?  Debutant Siddhant Chaturvedi has become an immediate heartthrob of the nation after Gully Boy hit the screens last Thursday. Not many people from the audience knew about the Inside Edge (on Amazon Prime) actor before the Bollywood saga about hip hop released but the actor has impressed everyone with his performance and the boyish screen that charmed the cine-goers.

Now, he has even made it to the Amul ad released as a nod to Gully Boy. However, do you know how he got the role? The 25-year-old revealed in an interview that when he was approached by Zoya Akhtar, at an Inside Edge Party, where she asked him to audition for the film. “The film had already started and they had begun the casting as well. I didn’t know anything about it,” revealed the actor. Also, the director had asked him to check out the music of rappers like Divine and Naezy whose life inspired the film in parts. He had to memorise a rap for the audition. but  Siddhanth stayed up all night and wrote his own rap. Although he was quite taken in by the rappers Divine and Naezy he wanted to rap about his own struggles. The next day, a Siddhant got a call from Zoya who offered him the role and the rest, as they say is history!
