It was a night of unexpected twists and turns. The 91st Academy Awards or the Oscars 2019 night was sort of predictable, and yet threw surprises with its list of winners.

Rami Malek as expected, won the Best Actor for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, while Olivia Colman won the Best Actress for The Favourite. "I may not have been the obvious choice, but I guess it worked out," said Rami, about his win and he even drew parallels between his and Freddie Mercury's life experiences.

While Rami encouraged people to listen to their inner voices, "To anyone trying to discover their voice, listen – we made a film about a gay man and an immigrant who lived his life unapologetically himself."
