After Kalank, it was reported that there was a delay in Karan Johar's future project Takht. But the director has opened up about it in social media recently and given an update on Takht and its release.

The filmmaker confessed in a recent interview that he is nervous about the whole project as it is a period film. To make it work, the director said that they had to go through an immense lot of work. He also admitted that he is pretty excited to direct this film as this will be his first historical drama.

"Takht is the most passionate piece of material that I think I will ever direct. I’m hugely passionate about it. I’m obsessed about the Mughal era ever since I can remember," said Karan Johar in No Filter Neha.

In his recent Instagram story, the director released a video of his team working in Dharma Productions office for Takht. The poster of the movie revealed that it will be released by December 2020. Another reason for its anticipation is the all-star cast which includes Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor.
