Celebrating the end of the live-action filming for the year, the official Avatar Twitter account shared a look at what they've been working on.

The picture depicts a water tank and shared along with the caption: "Check out this photo of the aft well deck section of the Sea Dragon, a massive mothership that carries an array of other sea-going craft in the sequels."

Cast members Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, CCH Pounder, and Matt Gerald are all reprising their roles from the original film, with Sigourney Weaver returning in a different role.[7] New cast members include Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Brendan Cowell, Michelle Yeoh, Jemaine Clement, Oona Chaplin, David Thewlis, Vin Diesel, and CJ Jones.

Prompted by the sneak peek, fans commented asking if there were possibilities of seeing a trailer in the near future. Answering the question, the official Twitter handle said: "Unfortunately not any time soon (sorry!), BUT we'll have plenty of stuff to hold you over 'til then, like a mobile game in 2020!"

Upon its release in 2009, James Cameron's Avatar was a box office smash and technical marvel. It went on to win three Oscars, and Cameron announced his intention to continue the story with a number of sequels. However, due to the amount of visual effects required and the Disney-Fox deal, the release dates for the sequels have been pushed back several times. As things stand now, Avatar 2 will be released in December 2021, with the fifth and (currently) final film hitting theatres in 2027.
