Doing the rounds on social media this week were some fab pics of ‘Boss Babes’ from the city, featuring various women in business, who are making things happen. The photographs of the young ladies in killer outfits was in the lead up to The Armoire Pop Up’s latest edition — Summer Soiree. After all of the buzz surrounding the showcase, it was no surprise that the venue was packed all day long, right from the moment the doors opened. Some people already knew what they wanted and made a beeline for their favourites. Even those in the ‘browse only’ category left with bags in hand.

Meanwhile across town at Palladium, Shaze unveiled their Latest jewellery collection ‘Flawsome’ with TV Actor Kiki Vijay doing the honours. In full attendance were the blogger brigade, dressed to the nines, giving the new range their undivided attention. With some serious bling to choose from, who wouldn’t?

Later in the week, Chennai’s art enthusiasts were treated to ‘Building Bridges’  presented by VST Grandeur, an exhibition of painting, photography and sculpture by artists Binu Bhaskar, Saju Kunhan and Asma Menon. The mixed medium showcase was well received by the crowd who were seen interacting with artist Asma Menon who was at the event. We were also treated to art of a different kind at The Great Chennai Bake show with some seriously mind-blowing cakes on display. We didn’t know if we wanted to take a big bite or a selfie. A battle between the eyes and the taste buds for sure. From the realistic to the abstract, these super talented home bakers really put their best foot, or in this case, icing, forward, to give us their interpretations of Tamil Nadu, the theme of the bake-off. Our final stop was at the launch of Bombay Brasserie at VR Mall. Guests got to sample signature dishes from the menu while being introduced to the ‘High Chai’ concept!
