Fancy ittar with French notes? Shop from Fragrances By Ambrin
Delhi-based Rahat Khan’s search for daily-wear scents without alcohol led to the launch of her label, Fragrances By Ambrin, three years ago. “I wanted to create my own fragrances by curating ittars and go beyond the hackneyed notes of rose and sandalwood,” says the entrepreneur, who was at home with her
newborn when she started her business. Since then, from one pop-up to another, she grew from strength to strength, and now she ships countrywide. ‘Ambrin’ in Pashto means sweet fragrance, which she thought suited the label perfectly. She recently launched her new collection, and most of them have dominant French notes, as Rahat mentions she is partial to it. Hyderabadis, who love their ittar, can get in touch through her Facebook page for bespoke sets. She has has introduced a few new ittars for the upcoming monsoon festivities.
First up is Dream, which is a fusion of floral and fruity notes, but the former is the more dominant one. Created for humid weather conditions, Dream has a powdery texture, which makes it last longer. There’s a new scent called Charmer, which is influenced by her French bagpipe player friend and veers towards a fruity scent.
Apart from that, we would suggest you try Lily, her bestseller, which has a slight hint of mellow tuberose scent to it. She also has a range of ittars for men; for instance, her newly launched A4, which has a smokey aroma. She pays attention to the packaging and they are wrapped in handpicked khadi pouches in various hues.
