Stunning, enamel 'gau' (cow) statement ring

Lai, an India-California based jewellery label with a contemporary viewpoint on design rooted in world heritage and craft skills, has come up with their latest festive collection, Old Delhi

Gold plated, two-tone 'Chandni' drop earrings. The clean lines of these earrings are contrasted by the arabesque cut out pattern in the middle; both underscoring the feminine grace of these earrings

Handcrafted at their Jaipur workshop in sterling silver, with gold and/or black rhodium plating, each piece exudes sophistication and charm.

Timeless, long, dangling 'Fatehpuri' chain earrings:The play of chains and the vertical profile, gives these earrings a contemporary spin. Suitable for both day wear and formal occasions and everything in between

The collection has been inspired by a walk around the bazaars (markets) in Old Delhi.

Musical 'ghungroo' earrings: Effortlessly cool, these are the perfect accessory for a brunch date or an elegant evening out. The dangling 'ghungroos' provide a whimsical yet graceful touch

"I have tried to incorporate the architectural details, the distinct iconography of the 17th century in my designs. My grandfather moved to Old Delhi, in Delhi-6 from Mathura, in 1939, looking for a new beginning with his newly wedded wife and set up a house, where we lived till 1984. The collection is more nostalgia driven with my own childhood memories and the stories I kept hearing till much later,” says Puja Bhargava Kamath, founder and creative head, Lai.

Dramatic 'Chakshu' (deity eye) statement ring: Curious, intelligent, playful and inspired by treasures from the past; found in bazaars, flea markets or in second hand shops

The collection is sure to appeal to the memory collectors, the wanderlusts and the experimenters scouting for timeless design stories in jewellery, comprising 23 unique designs in form of earrings, rings and necklaces.

Lush, gold plated, two-tone lotus statement ring:This neo classic creation is a timeless heirloom, inspired by the evergreen Mughal lotus motif and imaginatively surrounded by arabesque design

“Part familiar, part exotic, we've also used 'chakshu' (deity's eye), replicas of Mughal 'asharfi' and ghungroos in this collection,” adds Puja.

Mughal 'asharfi' earrings: A design which is at the same time very modern and timeless. Super comfortable to wear, these are perfect for a dinner date or family festivities
