Iconic French beauty retailer Sephora opens its first outlet in Hyderabad
Lights, mirror and lipsticks! International beauty retailer Sephora, whose goodies were always in one’s shopping list when travelling, has opened its first store in the city. The latest store at Forum Sujana Mall, happens to their 19th one in the country. Those of us who are always stocking up on cruelty-free Burt’s Bees lipsticks can now do away with the long wait after ordering online or coaxing friends who travel abroad to get you that Aveda shampoo. No more long wait for ordering online or coaxing friends who travel abroad to get you that Aveda shampoo. So when we got an exclusive glimpse of the outlet, the night before the store opened, we were understandably excited. The French beauty brand, that turns 50 this year has a range of products in the store — more than 100 to be precise. They can suit diverse skin types — for instance, foundations that are well-suited to Indian skin tones. Chief Operating Officer of Sephora India, Vivek Bali, says, “We make sure to do a complete check to suit Indian standards before ordering in a range.”
The collections includes well-known international names like Benefit, Makeup Forever, Cover FX, Stila, Nudestix, Tom Ford Beauty and OUAI. Many of these labels are not available in any other beauty retail stores, says Vivek. Burt’s Bees for instance, is available exclusively at Sephora. Like all other outlets of the store in the country, this one too carries the retailer’s popular in-house and exclusive range across make-up, skin-care, fragrances, bath and body categories as well as beauty accessories. The colourful Sephora counter immediately grabbed our attention. From body washes to hand moisturisers, this section can have you busy for a while once you start checking their products out. Sephora is known for its popular bath and body range, and for those who are fans of layering products from the same brand, ensuring that the unique fragrances linger.
Just like the celebs
The bubble wraps were barely off, and the beauty studio for six was still getting ready but we had begun our Sephora sojourn. We are especially looking forward to check out Ouai products, devised by Jen Atkin whose social media stories reveal that some of her celebrity clients include Chrissy Teigen, Jenna Dewan Tatum, and just about every member of the Kardashian-Jenner family. The French hair care brand has an exclusive range of shampoos, conditioners and mousse.
Mirror, mirror on the wall
As we walked around the stores, checking out one bucket list product after another, we discovered the massive beauty studio with six mirrors and the beauty brigade ready to help you with a makeover, if you want one. The board adjacent to it has several helpful tips about getting your smokey eyes and winged liner right. Getting your products and learning to use them right is what beauty dreams are made of!
