The three-year-old online jewellery brand creates unique pieces in sync with global fashion trends that are fun, comfortable and blends perfectly for work place and casual dos. Deepshikha Gupta, Senior VP Design, Melorra, shares insights about the latest collection with Indulge. Excerpts:
Tell us about the Lace Remix collection.
The Lace Remix is a part of Melorra’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection and takes inspiration from global fashion trends (like all our other collections). Shaking off all its outdated connotations as just a feminine, delicate fabric, lace this season is both grunge and bold. Taking cue from this trend, Melorra’s Lace Remix collection is designed with bold shapes encasing lacework in abstract patterns, which gives it that grunge edge. In this collection, women will find something that is not over-the-top and intricate, but has a modern and easy-to-style look and feel. The underlying theme of this season’s lace trend is ‘be edgy, independent and free’. The recent Cannes Film Festival saw Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut and Priyanka Chopra styled in lace while Chloe Sevigny carried the trending eyelet lace look with flair. Emily Blunt’s all-over lace dress by Alexander Mc Queen at this year’s Golden Globes Award was much-talked about. The recent edition of Elle also saw Katrina Kaif wear the ‘new lace’ trend.

The Lace Remix collection is created for party wear. All of Melorra’s collections including the Lace Remix are designed keeping millennials in mind, but can be worn by anyone irrespective of their age. In fact, there is something for every woman.
What all products does the collection have?
The collection is designed in both, gold and diamonds. It has sleek pendants, open top rings, cocktail rings, lightweight necklets, hoop earrings, banglets and bracelets – all depicting the bold and edgy feel of this season’s lace trend.
What is the pocket pinch?
Melorra’s Lace Remix Collection is in the range of Rs 10,000 to 2,00,000 and the weight varies from 2 gms to 22 gms. The cutwork makes the designs lightweight, yet gives a voluminous feel, offering the wearer value for money.
