With Rakhi -- the universal festival celebrating brotherhood -- knocking on the doors, there's not much time left for you to decide on what's that special thing you want to gift your siblings or friends. Whether it's that perfect dress or shoes or accessories including costume jewellery and bags, The Chic Affair has brought it all under one roof at its day-long exhibition to be held at boutique resort The Ivy House. Curated by Arpita Rajput, this exhibition offers a one-stop solution to all your dilemmas while selecting the right gift with about 21 great brands from Bangalore, Jamshedpur and Varanasi apart from the Kolkata-based ones participating in this event with the choicest of products. And what could be better than buying something that's handmade and sustainable?
The participating brands include labels such as Resham Studio, Kiaah, Mimosa Designs, Zaza, Little Weird, Be Positive, Milis Muffins, Craftnboo, Mr Ajay Kumar, Shreepatt, Candy Baby, Sujata Jhunjhunwala, Your Kitchen Away From Home, Token of Love, Whisk, Commedesfiles, Arzo Couture Jewels, Nityaa, Hungry Bums and Karma Kettle. There will also be the high-on-demand fashionable and colourful shoes from Rohan Arora's stable. “The Chic Affair aims at offering budget-friendly retail therapy with over 80 per cent of our vendors selling products costing less than Rs 5000. Be it a gift for rakhi for your brother or a fashionable bag or accessory for your sister-in-law, we have it all," says curator of the show Arpita Rajput.
There will be multiple stalls showcasing hand-woven cotton saris, dresses and fabrics and with aquatic and digital prints ruling this season's fashion, expect a varied collection of the same. There's also specially designed trendy kidswear options that are equally high on the comfort factor. Apart from a huge pret collection, the visitors will be spoilt for choice with stylish bespoke rakhis in various shapes, sizes and textures on offer. And for the ever lost and confused brothers in quest of that perfect gift for their beloved sisters, beautiful statement jewellery pieces, flavoured tea, trendy and fashionable bags and skincare products are there to surprise your siblings with your shopping skills.
Now if that doesn't quite impress you then you can choose from their niche selection of home decor products and other gift items. And since no exhibition is complete without some delectable options, there are lip-smacking baked preparations and flavoursome vegetarian savouries besides customised platters. "These vegan and gluten-free small bites are perfect to tickle your taste buds along with some artisanal teas,” says Shweta Tibb Arora, director of The Ivy House. To make things all the more interesting, famed Tarot reader Sudha Kankaria will be there to predict your future through card reading.
The Chic Affair will be held at The Ivy House on July 12 from 11 am onwards
