The 2018 Constellation Manhattan Collection was recently launched at the Omega store in UB City, Bengaluru. One of the brand’s most iconic watches, which was the first chronometer-certified wristwatch, the original version of the style was introduced in 1952. Over the years, the style has evolved and seen many changes and updates.

This new release offers 101 new models for women. In the 29 mm models, mechanical excellence is ensured through use of an OMEGA Master Co-Axial movement. Design wise, while the iconic Constellation design has been retained, the collection has been given subtle changes. Some of the changes include polished bevelled edges along the case and bracelet, slender bezels with thinner Roman numerals (which are all now in the upright reading position), slimmer Constellation claws and improved integration, a feminine half-moon shape on the teeth of the crown, hands in the shape of a skeletonised leaf, indexes inspired by the Manhattan skyline (specifically the Freedom Tower) and two different bracelet styles (inspired by those of the original Constellation “Manhattan” collection, featuring polished “mid-bar” links).

Speaking about the launch, Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of OMEGA, said, “Since 1982, the Constellation collection has achieved an iconic status in women’s watchmaking. These latest additions offer exceptional variety and beauty. Every small detail has been redefined to meet the exquisite standards and style of today’s feminine fashion.”
