City-based food entrepreneur Ankhi Nath is all set to venture into the world of fashion with the launch of her clothing line Dreamweaver by Ankhi. The label will cater to its customers through social media platforms. It will primarily be housing a new take on the conventional six yards of elegance- a range of skirt sarees.

“I have always had a keen interest in fashion since time immemorial. However, it wasn’t long ago that I realized it’s time to substantialise this interest through my own range of designs. This knack began fetching me a lot of appreciation and the line that you see today is a result of all the admiration and love I have received.”

With plans of introducing a bridal and wedding guest range in August, she is currently focusing on summer friendly ensembles that has a lot of colour-play involved. “I am mostly using summery pastel shades such as pale blue, mustard, soft lime green, beige and trying to keep all fabrics very light and breathable. The initial name that I had thought for my brand was Breathe, because I wanted the name itself to be suggestive of the quality offered.”

The main idea behind the collection is to offer women, who are always on the run, with affordable pre-pleated drapes that would not take up a lot of time and something that would make the entire saree wearing process very effortless. The skirt-sarees will be available in one size that will fit all, as the blouses are going to be semi-stitched.

“For the upcoming wedding collections to be introduced in August, I will be bringing in silks from the South. I plan to use fabrics that I would personally prefer to wear and believe would make the individual feel comfortable in her finery.”

Dreamweaver by Ankhi’s summer range starts from Rs.3000
