Dreams of being one’s own boss are most likely seen by everyone. Few, however, can bring it to fruition. But four young people did make it by launching an event management company named Urban Occasions last year in May, specifically for curating weddings in the city. Now they have gone a step further by adding customised gifting to their roster under the label, A & B, With Love. The parent company is handled by Sourav Amin Dey, Avirup Sinha, Ankita Tripathy and Barsha Bhattacharya, but the gifting venture is solely the girls’ territory. This arose out of a professional need, as customers were requesting gifting facilities along with the wedding decoration package. But they are not restricted to just weddings. From corporate affairs and birthday parties to even just gifting something to someone in a grand fashion, this is the right place to head to.
For this season, their collection is themed, Summer Must Haves, which includes flip flops, iced tea, tote or botua bags, sheet masks, detox water, oxidised and handcrafted jewellery, among other things. For the corporate world, personalised mugs, stationery like notebooks and pens, coffee beans and exotic flavoured tea are upon offer.
For the tea flavours, you can choose among blueberry cheesecake, red velvet, spiced vanilla and lemongrass ginger. Even a bottle of wine and glasses are not off the table if that is what rocks your boat. “We are focusing on providing customers with customised gift boxes. Clients present us with their budget, and we try to curate accordingly. The boxes are personalised, keeping in mind their preferences,” says Barsha Bhattacharya, the B in ‘A & B’.
After July, they will be looking towards the festive season with Durga Puja and Diwali followed by Christmas. Items they plan to add are bell jars, junk jewellery and indigenous handicrafts, bringing together age-old techniques and modern musings.
“Orders are mostly coming from women. However, once a person wanted a gift for his girlfriend. He had sent a picture of them which we framed, and added a poster, flowers and jewellery to complete the box,” offers Barsha. A & B, With Love sources the materials, designs and curates the gift boxes, and also gets them delivered to your doorstep.
