Well-woven but lightweight and structured — such lehengas and anarkalis never go out of style. Keeping that in mind, Gulabo Jaipur, a brand inspired by the local colours and prints of Rajasthan has unveiled their latest collection in the city. “Known as Nargis, the surface embellishments and embroidery are all inspired by the heritage of the Pink City,” shares Saloni Panwar, who helms the four-year-old label along with husband, Salman Khan. It is a brand that desi divas, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Janhvi Kapoor have worn. “I have always been inclined to create art of somekind.

It initially started as a hobby. However, it soon grew by leaps and bounds with more than 50 karigars working with us,” says the self-taught designer. Known for their Indo-Western silhouettes, expect a lot of traditional ensembles with gota patti (a specialised Rajasthani stitching technique that uses applique work). The latest collection also comprises salwar suits and lehengas, among others. The highlight is their 10-metre Ghera Anarkaali in cotton mudaal. Also, expect matching dupattas with kurtas, which are crafted in chanderi and are embellished with Mughal motifs .

Available at Angasutra. Starts at Rs 7,500.
