THE verdict is out! This year, it was the Bolly brigade that ruled the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, with their looks and uber-stylish wardrobes. Very much in sync with the trends of the season, each one of these beautiful actors nailed the look at the French Riviera last month. From Hina Khan to Kangana Ranaut — Parthivi Kanoria, owner of multi-designer Western wear store, The Atrium, recreates the best Cannes looks for our readers, in ways that can be easily put together with a little bit of care. “We have curated all these looks at our store — from tassles, appliqués, scallops, and sheers to bling, metallics, pastels and monotones, our luxury boutique houses around 25-30 fashion week and gen-next designers across the country. Whether you’re looking for Boho prints, cocktails, summer wear, party or resort wear, there’s something for everybody,” assures Parthivi.

Hina Khan

TV actor Hina Khan was the surprise package at Cannes, and we were impressed by the way she carried herself. Her bold, high-fashion, metallic dress stood out among all the other dresses that she donned. Metallic colours like silver, gold and bronze have replaced the standard black, when it comes to all things sartorial. These structural dresses are becoming a rage in cocktails, and Kolkata too has not been left unscathed. This one-shoulder silver metallic twist dress with cutouts looks chic and dramatic. Minimal make-up with dangling pearls brings out the elegance of the outfit.

Kangana Ranaut

The ever-bold fashion queen, Kangana Ranaut, was the clear winner this year at Cannes, with her cool and classy fashion vibes. Prints are eternal in the fashion world, and this season, it’s all about fun florals in bright pastels like pinks, blues and purples. Kangana’s no-frill, floral printed, flowy maxi dress with pleats is breathable and sustainable. They’re also super cool and Instagram-worthy! We replicated this look with a Paulmi and Harsh purple- pleated strappy dress, with delicate flowers — ideal for your next beach outing!

Deepika Padukone

Deepika, a regular at Cannes, was a visual delight as always. We loved her day looks — so chic and trendy. She totally rocked the look in a blue-and-white striped pantsuit. A perfect combination of casual and formal, co-ord sets are definitely here to stay, with stripes being a minimal blender between the colours. We picked up a similar co-ord number for our model with a cowl neck, and fall pants. The look is enhanced further by thin-rimmed round shades, and danglers for ears.

Priyanka Chopra

Everyone was waiting for Piggy Chops’ debut at Cannes, and she made sure she turned heads in a very blingy and sequinned Roberto Cavalli gown. This year, bling and shimmers have made a prominent mark in the fashion scene and so, do not hesitate to flaunt those glittery numbers in your wardrobe, to stand out. These sparkling beauties are for all those fashionistas who love to be glamourous yet different. And, with all the international fashion houses belting out these gorgeous pieces, we too decided to embrace this trend. Here, Hiya looks ritzy in a black one-shoulder full-bling maxi gown, with soft curls for that debonair look.

Huma Qureshi

Huma Qureshi’s gorgeous multi-layered ruffles gown created a huge buzz on the fashion circuit. Ruffles add a wow element to any monotone gown, top, jumpsuit or cape. They’re fuss-free, attractive and very elegant as well. Huma’s gown took a good 1,000 hours to make, but you can get that look with this Riddhi and Revika lilac ruffle jumpsuit, with a ruffles cape, available at The Atrium. It will instantly make you red-carpet ready. Pull your hair up together in a knot to let the frills take centre-stage. Tassle jewelled earrings complete this eye-catching look!

Kangana in a sari

The new-age woman wants to be more experimental and unique with her styling, and Kangana’s outfit was a nice amalgamation of contemporary and classic sensibilities —a blend of modernism with a hint of tradition; ideal for cocktail events. We styled Hiya in a chic drape gown with a flowy and trailing fabric that has the look and feel of the evergreen sari. Glittering diamond earrings and an embellished corset belt seal this regal look effortlessly.
