Who said ordering out has to be unhealthy? EAT aka 'Eat All Time,' a brand new app promises to connect you to home kitchens across the country. That means generous 'home-style' portions, affordable pricing and for those who are working far from home and homesick — a chance to get your hands on a plate of delicious food from your region, just the way your mom makes it.

Started by Chennai-based Arun Prasanth who owns both Thambi Villas and Tovo — the platform available on both Android and iPhone currently has 20 kitchens on board - between Chennai, Tanjore, Madurai, Hyderabad, Mangalore and Kolhapur. At the launch recently, we tasted portions of everything from Curd Rice and Puliyogare to assorted breads and baos, Mutton Biryani and kebabs and Goan style sannas paired with Chicken Vindaloo.

"At the back end, the food is directly cooked by authentic EAT homemakers, who cook for the users just like they do for their sons and daughters. EAT works towards bringing in an independent source of income for every homemaker," said a release.

Available via Android and iPhone. Prices: Rs 30 to Rs 200.
