There are no hidden ingredients at this cafe. Everything you see on the shelves is what you eat. That’s what makes Phalada Pure & Sure Organic Cafe different. The cafe, by the organic brand, Phalada, uses ingredients that have been produced by it.

Located in Jayanagar, the interiors are pleasantly minimal, and echo the cafe’s concept of keeping it simple. An interesting detail is how most of their offerings can be customised as per the diet of the diner, with options such as keto, vegan, gluten-free and Jain. However, we were open to trying all options and started our meal with the Bullet Proof Coffee.

Caffeine fix
People on a Keto diet will be familiar with this concoction of coffee, which uses ghee and oil. Their version is a mix of organic filter coffee, extra-virgin coconut oil and desi A2 ghee. The strong caffeine shot was just what we needed. After such a strong start, we tried their bestselling breakfast, Jackfruit Kheema with Pita Bread. The ‘kheema’ that could easily pass off as mutton was delicious.

The Indian spices were spot on and the pita bread was the perfect pairing for this dish. Between bites, we sampled the Avocado and Moringa Smoothie. The smoothie, topped with Moringa powder, balanced the spiciness of the kheema.

Getting fresh
The Curcurbits with Lemon Chilli and Jaggery Dressing salad was served next. The mix of cucumber, lettuce, tomatoes, cilantro and peanuts topped with lemon chilli and jaggery dressing was refreshing. The different textures and medley of flavours worked well.

From the Indian mains, we tried the Multi Millet Biryani. This aromatic dish was a mix of various types of millets and short grain rice. The flavours were close to authentic mutton biryani sans the meat. For dessert,
we opted for the Mango Ricotta Cheesecake. However, this wasn’t really a cheesecake. It was more like a layered dessert made with fresh mango pulp and grated ricotta cheese. What we liked about it was the interplay of two different flavours.

With such interesting clean options, Pure & Sure is a cafe for those who like to indulge but without any guilt, and definitely warrants multiple visits.

Rs 750++ for two. At Jayanagar
