Candle healing to tarot card reading, this wellness festival at Express Avenue promises a spree of alternative therapies

From candle healing to tarot card reading, this weekend is all about exploring your energy points, aura and vibrations at the Express Avenue Mall. “We thought that a wellness fest will be an apt gesture to celebrate our nine years of success in the city. This is our way of giving back to the society and the community,” says Munish Khanna, Chief Revenue Officer, Express Avenue mall. With 33 participants curated by The Divine Sparks and The Lucky Charm & Co, the celebration will kickstart with The Wellness Fest, which has an eclectic mix of alternative-therapy modalities and retailers connected to healthy living. We are told to expect masterclasses and special sessions for kids as well, besides stalls for tarot card reading, feng shui, and meta healing, among others.

With alternative methods of healing and well being on offer, we catch up with city-based Shradha Lulla, one of the participants, who tells us about the modality of Access Bars. “It deals with 32 energy points around your head — they correlate to different aspects of your life. This therapy can improve life in general!” says Shradha, who did a course on the subject with Ashish Narayankar from Mumbai, before starting the practice in January this year. Priced at Rs 4,000 for an hour-long session, it promises to help with issues like stress, insomnia and mood swings, by accessing your consciousness.

Meanwhile, Shweta Ranka is offering Shalvik Mantra Rahasya Healing and tells us that in the past two months since she began practising, she has already successfully treated 50 clients in the city at `2,100 per session. “Based on your intuitive number, this technique deals with four and a half lakh vibrations that are brought down to 300 symbols, which are used to treat ailments,” informs Shweta.

City-based Gita Jaykumar claims that she has cured bone fractures for a client in Canada over Skype! “I am India’s only master trainer in Lifestyle Prescription, PEAT & Aspectics, and Emotional Freedom Techniques (associated with the founding organisation, EFT International).  I have achieved success through these breakthrough therapies, helping people heal from fractures (from broken to completely healed in a single session for some), depression, bipolar disorder, and eczema and psoriasis, among a range of other issues,” says the therapist, adding that her charges are available on request only, and based on the requirement of her client.

In continuation of the anniversary celebration, later this month we can look forward to a photo exhibition-cum-competition at Express Avenue — organised in time for World Photography Day. Entries are invited from across Tamil Nadu, with ‘water’ as the theme.

On August 2 and 3. The Wellness Fest is at the Central Atrium of Express Avenue Mall, from
11 am to 9 pm.
