As Vivo completes five years in India, they launch their mid-budget smartphone dubbed V17. The Vivo V17 boasts a 6.44-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with 2400 x 1080-pixels resolution and 91.38 screen-to-body-ratio. If that's a mouthful then let's just break it down. Essentially, it's an upgrade on the V17 pro which launched earlier this year in India, especially in the camera department.

The V17, which was unveiled last month in Russia, offers seamless operation and low-power consumption thanks to being powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 AIE octa-core processor. Pair that with its 8GB RAM and 128GB memory, you get expanded storage space and an elevated experience. Oh, and the fact that all of this is supported by a 4,500mAh of battery aided by Vivo's exclusive Dual-Engine Fast Charging means the phone essentially lasts for a full day on a single charge and recharges itself in a flash.

The highlight, however, is the selfie camera. It's a 32 MP selfie camera with a super night mode and Vivo's own portrait algorithm. The E3 Super AMOLED 16.36 cm display with its 20:9 aspect ratio definitely helps, especially in low-light situations. The rear quad camera is impressive as well as it includes a 48MP main camera, 8MP super wide-angle camera, 2MP macro camera and 2MP bokeh camera. The built-in AR stickers seem like a fun afterthought.

Gamers who are concerned about their privacy while speaking to teammates during multiplayer mode etc also have the built-in voice changer option too. Other game-related features include off-screen autoplay and a new game centre—where you can check real-time CPU, GPU and temperature data. The Vivo site even claims that it comes with an Ultra Game Mode, where players can block messages and alerts, to fully concentrate on winning the game at hand. Yeah, that may not go down well with parents who are gifting this to their teenagers.

For those wondering about the colour options, it comes in Glacier Ice and Midnight Ocean. No points for guessing what colours they represent! It is priced at INR 22,990.

Pre-booking for the phone is open now and the V17 will reach offline stores on December 17.
