Chennai, Dec 15: China-based company Huami has ramped up its offerings in the smart wearable market in India, with its Amazfit portfolio.

The company provides wearable technology to Xiaomi, and in July last year, they debuted their own line of smartwatches in India -- Amazfit Bip and Amazfit Stratos.

To expand its portfolio, the company has launched the Amazfit GTR smartwatch for INR 10,999 directly competing with Fitbit's Versa Lite Edition smartwatch, which is priced at INR 13,799.

The Amazfit GTR runs on an indigenous Amazfit OS and comes in two variants -- 47 mm and 42 mm.

The makers Huami claim that the Amazfit GTR lasts for upto 24 days with moderate usage.

In a review posted online, the smartwatch with 410mAh battery was shown lasting up to 18 days, with heart rate measurement, fitness tracking and Always-on Display features on. Overall, the device is recommended for those who hate charging gadgets.

The smartwatch has a round dial with a stainless steel body, measuring 47.2 mm in diameter. The device is a perfect mix of formal and informal touch, thanks to its size and brown leather strap.

The Amazfit GTR has a dual-crown design and both the buttons are placed on the right side.

The upper button serves as a Home button and brings up the main watchface, while the lower button works as a Quick start button and can be assigned to actions like workout or heart rate tracking, music controls, weather and so on.

The Amazfit GTR flaunts 1.39-inch circular AMOLED display with 454x454 pixels screen resolution and a pixel density of 326ppi, along with Gorilla Glass 3 on top for protection.

The screen has auto as well as manual brightness controls and the device comes with support for Always-on Display, so you won't face any problems using it outdoors.

The smartwatch comes with 12 different sports modes, including running, cycling, swimming, mountaineering, trail running and workout.

Once an activity is done, the smartwatch displays data like distance, pace, bpm (beats per minute) range, laps, time per lap and so on.

Like other smartwatches, this Amazfit product comes with a heart rate sensor, and the watch is water resistant up to 50 metres.

The smartwatch can be paired with both Android smartphones and iPhones and to view data, one needs to use the Mi Fit app or the Amazfit app.

With a plethora of options around, Amazfit GTR provides top-notch features for its price point of around INR 11,000. Amazfit GTR stands out against its competitors.
