Bang Bang Shrimp Salad at Soy Joy
We started our gustatory trail with a Bang Bang Shrimp Salad featuring cold shrimp and glass noodles tossed in a spicy, nutty sesame-peanut paste, besides a comforting bowl of Ceab and Corn Egg Drop Soup
Black Pepper Calamari at Soy Joy
Up next was the Black Pepper Calamari, which had a hint of heat, perfectly crispy on the outside and soft but not chewy inside, proving how fresh and of great quality they are
Smoky charcoal-charred Ikan Bakar wrapped in banana leaves at Soy Joy
For the mains, we settled for the smoky charcoal-charred Ikan Bakar wrapped in banana leaves. Buttery fish fillets marinated in a spicy tangy sauce and steamed to perfection. Served with a side of salad and sautéed exotic veggies, this was super light on the palate
Tom Yum rice at Soy Joy
We paired the Iban bakar with Prawn Tom Yum rice, which was hand down our favourite from the dishes that we tried. Short-grained rice, tossed with lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves and bird's eye chilli. So much flavour in every bite
Deep-Fried Ice Cream at Soy Joy
We wrapped it up with a unique Deep-fried nutty black sesame ice cream with ginger toffee, featuring the ice cream fried in a crunchy, coconutty tempura shell, drizzled with spicy ginger syrup
