Lladro has finally arrived in Kolkata and you’ll be happy to hear that the flawless gloss finish Frida Kahlo bust from your Instagram search history could be ticked right off of your bucket list. We caught up with Nikhil Lamba, CEO Lladro India, to know more about the brand’s vision for the City of Joy:

Tell us what we can expect at the Kolkata flagship of the brand

Renowned Puerto Rican architect Héctor Ruiz Velázquez has developed the interiors inspired by the brand’s creative universe in tandem with the brand’s in-house team. Similar new concept Lladró stores are located in Madrid, London and New Delhi. The new boutique offers Lladró’s complete range of products – sculptures, lighting, home decor, fragrances and jewellery.

Tell us a little about how the brand has evolved with millennial, new-age needs..

Currently minimalistic, exclusive numbers are the emerging trends worldwide. Our clients are now aware of the latest trends and designs, they are well travelled and do not mind paying for exclusivity and bespoke experiences. We have a lot of young buyers and keeping the new-age needs in mind the brand has diversified into contemporary jewellery and modern lighting, and there are collaborations with designers like Marcel Wanders, Jaime Hayon, Bodo Sperlein, Hisakazu Shimizu, Tim Biskup etc.
