Top 50 most powerful women in Indian luxury honoured at Imperial Towers, Mumbai
The selected women, chosen by BlackBook, the luxury industry insider magazine, includes entrepreneurs, top executives, artists and trendsetters who represent female power in Indian luxury.
The top 50 most powerful women in luxury list was celebrated by Imperial Edge during an evening of champagne and art hosted at the Imperial Towers, Mumbai. The selected women, chosen by BlackBook, the luxury industry insider magazine, includes entrepreneurs, top executives, artists and trendsetters who represent female power in Indian luxury.
Blackbook’s Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Luxury is a yearly tribute to the women who are challenging our notions of luxury with their creativity, conviction, power and persuasion. The list includes names such as, Anamika Khanna (designer), Priya Paul (Chairperson, Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels), Ritu Kumar (Head Textile and Fashion Designer, Ritu Kumar) and Rajshree Pathy (Co-founder, KAMA Ayurveda and founder, India Design Forum), Renu Oberoi (Founder and Creative Head, Renu Oberoi Luxury Jewellery), and Simran Lal (CEO, Good Earth / Co-founder, Nicobar) amongst others. The evening, co-sponsored by Poltrona Frau, saw a lively panel discussion on the use of influencer marketing and social media in the luxury industry. This was followed by the awards ceremony presented by Ms. Stefania Costanza, the chief guest and Consul General of Italy in Mumbai.
In addition to the award ceremony, guests were treated to a display of several sculptures from the ongoing Elephant Parade India initiative which runs the world’s largest exhibition of decorated elephant statues, raising proceeds for elephant conservation. This included works by Amitabh Bachchan, Abha Narain Lambah, Krsna Mehta, Design Temple (shown left) and Anita Dongre.
