Rapper Spitfire’s debut EP, Paathshala launches with a gig at Church Street Social
Nitin Mishra aka Spitfire launches his new EP, Paathshala. The EP is described as, “an old wealth of knowledge based on experiential learning that guides us to who we are.” According to the rapper, art and expression had once saved him, so he has now found the strength to give back. The album has been launched by Ranveer Singh's label Inc Ink, and the rapper brings the album to Bengaluru this weekend.
“The title track Paathshala, is my shout-out to hip-hop. I talk about my life, my surroundings, my neighborhood and how I began,” says the rapper, adding, “It also talks about how rap and hip-hop has brought me to where I am today. And how art can give you a vision to understand this world.”
Another song, called Akaash Vani, is a compilation of small poems, and touches upon themes of karma and the universe. The third song, Tum Jaano Na, is all about the relationship between art and the artiste. “The last song on the EP, Vartalap, is a very catchy number,” the rapper says. “It's a multidirectional song that touches on a lot of themes, and it happens to be my favourite track,” he reveals. The song boasts and electronic vibe but has an old school tempo and Hindi and Urdu lyrics.
Fans can expect all this and more at the launch gig in Bengaluru.
