Makeup artiste Rebecca Butterworth reveals idea behind Katrina Kaif's look in Bharat
One of the year’s most awaited Bollywood films include Salman Khan-starrer Bharat, which also features actress Katrina Kaif. While the actors are busy promoting the film, Katrina’s makeup artiste Rebecca Butterworth recently revealed a few beauty secrets and behind-the-scene makeup routine from the sets of Bharat.
In an interview with a leading media organisation, Rebecca reportedly said that her team and she worked on two of the five looks that Katrina has in the film - 55-year-old and 65-year-old lady.
For Kat’s oldest ageing phase in the film, English special effects artiste Neill Gorton sculpted some subtle bondo pieces that were applied around her mouth and forehead to add lines and texture to bring the aged look.
Rebecca also said she worked on Kat’s eyelids, around her eyes and arms. “We used old-age stipple to add texture around her eyes, on her hands and arms. We added a few lines on her forehead by using a latex-based stretch. The rest of her look was achieved using specialist FX paints to colour her skin and make it appear more freckled and uneven,” she reportedly said.
She also added that her inspiration was actress Rekha. “The director suggested her (Rekha) because he loves her beauty and elegance. We tried to stay true to the spirit of graceful ageing.”
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film also stars Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff, Tabu and Sunil Grover, and will hit the theatres on June 05.
