Lata Mangeshkar in critical condition, admitted to Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai

Mumbai: Lata Mangeshkar, the legendary Bollywood vocalist, was rushed to Breach Candy Hospital, in South Mumbai, in the early hours of Monday, after she complained of difficulty in breathing. 

Reports suggested that the veteran singer is in a critical condition and that she has been admitted in the hospital's ICU unit. Sources at the hospital said the singer is under observation, and that her condition is currently stable.

Sources confirmed that Lata Mangeshkar was brought in around 2 am on Monday. Members of her family confirmed the news, adding that she is on her way to recovery.

Lata Mangeshkar remained fairly active at her age, and very recently tweeted about Padmini Kolhapure's comeback to the big screen with Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon's film, Panipat. 

She shared on Twitter, 'Namaskar. Meri bhaanji Padmini Kolhapure ek bahut acchi kalakar hai aur ab woh Panipat is film mein Gopika bai ka kirdaar nibha rahi hai. Main Padmini ko aashirwad deti hun aur Ashutosh aur unki team ko shubhkaamanayein deti hun.'

Often hailed as the Nightingale of India, Lata Mangeshkar celebrated her 90th birthday on September 28, 2019 and celebrities The whole of B-Town came out to wish the Nightingale of India on her special day.
