South Korean singer-actress Goo Hara has been found dead at her home in Seoul on Sunday, according to reports. The artiste's death comes just over a month since another former K-Pop girl band member, Sulli, who was also found dead in a suspected suicide after struggling with online bullying.

Hara, the 28-year-old is best known as a former member of the K-Pop band Kara, which she joined in 2008. She had also appeared on television and released music by herself, reports media. The artiste was hospitalised earlier in May for an alleged suicide attempt. However, police reports say that the cause of death is not yet confirmed.

The singer later apologised for causing "concerns and a commotion" among her fans over the incident. Reports said her manager had, at the time, found her unconscious.

Hara's last post on Instagram was a photograph of herself in bed with the caption: "Good night".

The K-Pop band Kara was one of the first bands to get popular on the international stage. Hara's first solo EP, released in 2015, had peaked at number four in the Korean music charts.

However, reports suggest that over the last year, her career was overshadowed by personal events in her life. In September 2018 Hara filed a lawsuit against a former boyfriend after he threatened to damage her career by exposing an illicit video of her. As a result, he was given a suspended jail term in August for physically assaulting and blackmailing the star.

Fans have been taking to social media to express their shock at the news of Hara's death.
