Watch: Milind Soman fights back trolls mocking age gap between him and wife Ankita Konwar

Actor and supermodel Milind Soman married his beau, Ankita Konwar last year. Age is truly just a number for these two, who broke all stereotypes by tying the knot.

Milind opened up about the age gap of 26 years in a recent commercial. In the video, the couple is seen sitting together and talking about their bond. It begins with the two of them reading trolls on social media. While one reads “old man marrying a young lady” and the other said “Ankita should call you Papaji”. Milind jokingly says, “She does, sometimes.”

The video then features the two opening up about their relationship. “It’s been five years that we are together and everything is still the same. There is a big age difference.” Ankita interrupts him correcting, “26 years.” Milind says, “So it is the difference between my age and my mother’s age.”

“Conventionally, society has created these barriers for people when they fall in love. These are the people who should be together, these are the people who should get together. Those are based on many things – race, religion, country, gender... I think there should not be any barriers. I think everybody should be free to choose who they love and who they like and that should be based just on feelings that they have in the heart, it should have nothing to do with the society,” he says, towards the end.

Milind is now an avid athlete and adventurer. The two tied the knot on April 22, 2018.
