Kareena Kapoor Khan’s baby bump was just a bad angle, says Saba Ali Khan

This week, a paparazzi video of Kareena Kapoor Khan leaving a Mumbai gym sparked a fresh round of pregnancy rumours that sent Bollywood's rumour mill into overdrive. Saba Ali Khan Pataudi, her sister-in-law, has now intervened to correct the record, characterising the rumours as nothing more than a bad camera position.

The speculation began after a video of Kareena surfaced online, showing the actress walking toward her car following what appeared to be a workout session. A member of her team was seen holding an umbrella that partially shielded her from the paparazzi's lenses — a routine move for camera-shy celebrities, but one that this time fuelled online chatter about a possible baby bump. Within hours, social media users were debating whether the actress was expecting her third child with husband Saif Ali Khan.

Saif's sister and Kareena's sister-in-law, Saba Ali Khan Pataudi, wasn't having it. Taking to her Instagram Stories, she wrote, “A bad angle ... Or a bad hair day! How can everyone assume another extreme!! She walked out of an airport looking slick classy n slim, And today out of a gym! That's it!! I've been convincing my sister to have a 2nd child... wish that was true! She’ll kill me for saying it! Live n let live guys. Some things are left private. No speculation needed. With love n respect”.

This isn't new for Kareena. Back in July 2022, a candid photo from a European family holiday with Saif and their sons led to nearly identical baby-bump rumours. At the time, Kareena addressed it herself on Instagram with characteristic humour, joking that the ‘bump’ people were seeing was really the result of one too many pasta dinners and glasses of wine on holiday and that Saif had already ‘contributed’ plenty to the country's population with their two sons: Taimur, born in 2016, and Jehangir (Jeh), born in 2021.
