Comedy night: 
Stand-up special hosted by Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg

As a part of its Saturday stand-up special, Comedy Central will be screening a special show hosted by Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg of Big Bang Theory fame. Watch out for special acts by comics like Kumail Nanjiani (in pic), Mark Little, Brian Posehn, Dan Mintz, and Chris Hardwick, this week. On August 24, in the episode hosted by Seth Meyers, catch John Mulaney, Ryan Belleville, Debra DiGiovanni, and Jake Johannsen.

The Iron Lady

As part of its Privé Legacies series, &Privé is showcasing The Iron Lady this Sunday. An outsider who fought her way in, a rebel who never backed down and a woman who made her presence felt and how — Margaret Thatcher is a force to be reckoned with. Bringing alive her journey and tracing her path to becoming the first-ever female and longest-serving Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of the 20th century is Meryl Streep, who plays Thatcher.

David Attenborough’s Wonder of Eggs 

David Attenborough has a passion for birds’ eggs. These remarkable structures nurture new life, protecting it from the outside world at the same time as allowing it to breathe. They are strong enough to withstand the full weight of an incubating parent and weak enough to allow a chick to break free. But how is an egg made? Why are they the shape they are? Piece by piece, from creation to hatching, David reveals the wonder behind these miracles of nature.

MTV Splitsvilla X2

MTV is back with the 12th edition of the Splitsvilla franchise, MTV Splitsvilla X2. With the theme, ‘Your Best Shot at Love’, the show will provide a ‘dating app derived’ experience on-ground, where 10 girls and 15 boys are all set to find their ideal matches with the help of various personality filters. Sunny Leone and Rannvijay Singha are back as hosts.
Premieres August 16 at 7 pm. Will continue to air every Friday. On MTV.

Premiere: 
Game Over 

Directed by Ashwin Saravanan, Game Over is the story of Swapna (Taapsee Pannu), confined to a wheelchair and defending her home from a mysterious intruder. The film also stars Vinodini Vaidyanathan as Kalamma, Swapna’s housemaid, and was shot both in Tamil and Telugu.  Premieres August 21. 
On Netflix.

New season: 
Mindhunter

David Fincher, Andrew Dominik and Carl Franklin are all set to bring another season of Mindhunter, that is inspired by true events. Watch how FBI agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench probe further into the psyches of those who have done the unthinkable. Indulge in behavioural analysis and hunt down the notorious serial killers with them, of course.
Season Two from August 16. On Netflix. 

New season: 
The Terror

Set during World War II, the brand new season centres on a series of bizarre deaths that haunt a Japanese American community, and a young man’s journey to understand and combat the malevolent entity that is responsible. In Season Two,  expect to see a story of human nature, that is as haunting in its honesty, as it is in its ghosts.

New:
Jett

Best known for the movie series Spy Kids, and her performances in Gerald’s Game and The Haunting of Hill House, Carla Gugino, returns to TV to play the lead character of Jett, a master thief recently out of prison and on a mystery mission. Created by Sebastian Gutierrez, this action-packed drama is filled with suspense, thrill, and criminal prowess.
August 16 at 10 pm. Will continue to air Monday to Friday at 10 pm. On Star World.

CHiPs

Jon Baker (Dax Shepard) and Frank ‘Ponch’ Poncherello (Michael Peña) have just joined the California Highway Patrol in LA, but for very different reasons. Baker is a former motorbike rider who’s trying to put his life and marriage back together. Ponch is a cocky, undercover FBI agent investigating a multimillion-dollar heist. Forced to work together, the inexperienced rookie and hardened veteran are out to nab the bad guys.
