Kolkata-based designer Poonam Kasera's new collection is all about style and comfort
She understands men’s sartorial need like the back of her hand. Couturier Poonam Kasera, who works with contemporary silhouette, traditional colours and comfortable fabrics, is here with her latest collection.
Witnessing the rise of fitter, well groomed men with a distinguished sense of style, the new collection is meant to stand out on festive occasions. Exploring the various sartorial styles from pastel shades to earthy ones, the latest collection consists of kurta, sherwanis, jackets, blazers and even indo-western styles. For the men who want to strike a balance between traditional and modern sensibilities, the collection is just apt.
Pushing the fashion limits, the stitch, detailing and fit is bang on trendy, yet the fabric is comfortable enough to survive the grueling summer. One can find fabrics like Moonga silk, cotton silk, Matka silk and Moonga dupion silk giving the desired structure to the kurtas and sherwanis that fit their style like gloves. Extremely comfortable as well as rich, the ensemble is skin friendly.
What makes the collection more striking is the detailing that adds a hint of jazz to the look, though not going overboard. Intricate zardosi and striking applique work makes for minimal but right jazz on the color of the kurta of yolk of the bandhgala. One can also find a lot of layering for that dapper look.
