Join Switcheroo, the clothing exchange this Sunday

Actress Emma Watson and closer home Dia Mirza, have advocated eco-conscious fashion and you could join their rung too and fashionably so! Why shop when you can swap and get yourself a complete wardrobe at  Switcheroo — a clothing swap do! It is being hosted by Harshitha Venati and her fellow Shapers who is associated with the Hyderabad chapter of Global Shapers Community Hyderabad, an organisation born out of World Economic Forum.

Just bring some of your old favourites to the exchange and they have to be in prim and proper condition! We ask Harshitha what prompted such a do and she tells us, “Fashion can be so empowering when it is used the right way. However, we need to remember that the outfits we keep buying come at a certain cost: the artisans are often not paid well enough. It is also the second largest polluter in the world.” Also, she thought it would be the best way to commemorate the Fashion Revolution Week, which From April 22 to 28th.

Harshitha Venati

City-based fashion designer Archana Rao she will be going through the clothes that have been donated. And that apart you can find some of Archana Rao’s unsold stock up for a swap, and that of Label, Mishru’s too.

So this is how it works: you have to first receive tokens in exchange for the approved outfits you have submitted. Bring as many clothes and accessories as you can. Present your items to the quality screening team at the entrance. After the quality screening, a token will be allotted for each item that passes the screening. Each swap is 1:1, so 1 token = 1 item. And then you can go ahead and swap!

And there’s no need for any money unless of course, you want more clothes than your token permits. If you don't find something you like, you are can take the clothes or donate them. If you want to donate your clothes, you can head to the drop-off locations at Sage Farm Cafe and Jxtapose in Jubilee Hills.
